This weekend the Studio@Gizmodo team is headed to Katowice, Poland, for the Intel Extreme Masters League of Legends World Championship tournament. Sponsored by Gillette, the event is part of their big push into esports (including this very site, Compete). It’s going to be real cold, real competitive, and real fun.

Held at the 11,500-seat Spodek Arena, eight professional LoL teams from around the world will face off on the Summoner’s Rift for a chance at $150K and the IEM title. All weekend long, we’ll be onsite and reporting from Spodek, talking to fans, teams, and pros (including Gillette ambassador xPeke, whose Kassadin backdoor at IEM Katowice 2013 forever tied his name to the city) about the precision required to succeed in esports. Check back here starting Saturday morning, 2/26, for more stories from the League portion of IEM Katowice 2017.
